Can I use my Vantage Vue™ with 2 consoles?
Yes, the Vantage Vue Integrated Sensor Suite (ISS) can transmit to multiple Vantage Pro2™ or Vantage Vue consoles. It is radio-compatible with all current Vantage family stations. Likewise, you can also use a Vantage Vue console as a second receiver for your Vantage Pro2.

Is Vantage Vue transmission range really 1000 feet (300 meters)?
In a quiet radio environment, we have seen the transmission distance well beyond 1000 feet (300 meters). In a typical setting, the Vantage Vue will transmit over 1000 feet line of sight. The range will vary depending on the physical features of the land, any nearby RF interference, and how many walls through which you are trying to transmit.

Where is the best place to site my Vantage Vue ISS?
Ideally, the ISS should be mounted between 5 and 7 feet (1.5 and 2.1 meters) above the ground in a flat grassy location that drains well. It should be mounted level using the built-in bubble level and with the solar panel facing the sun’s arc (facing south above the equator, and north below it). These siting guidelines reflect an ideal location. It’s rarely possible to find the perfect installation location. The better the siting, the more accurate your data will be. Many people choose to place the ISS on their roof or other structure. Wherever you choose to mount it, be sure you can get back up to it to periodically check that the unit is clean and clear of debris.

What tools will I need to install my Vantage Vue station?
The only tools you will need to mount your ISS are an adjustable wrench and a compass, or local area map, to determine where North is. You will also need a mounting point such as the Davis Mounting Tripod or Mounting Pole kit, or any pole or rod having a diameter of 1" to 1.75" (25-44 mm).

Can I share my weather data with a neighbor?
Yes, if your neighbor is within 1000 feet (300 m) of your ISS, all they'd need to listen to your ISS is their own Vantage Vue console. We even sell repeaters if you'd like to set up for a longer transmission range. By the way, if your neighbor has a Vantage Pro2 or Vantage Vue in their backyard, you can get a console and listen in yourself.

The winds really blow where I live. Will Vantage Vue be able to withstand them?
We extensively tested Vantage Vue including wind tunnel tests with sustained winds well over 150 mph (241 kph). You'll want to make sure your pole is ready for the same winds.
